Educational Concerts
In their efforts to promote all styles of music to children, the MCBQ has uniquely designed programs for all ages. Concerts run between 45 minutes and 1 hour and include a Q&A session.
Peter and the Wolf:
Sergei Prokofiev’s classic composition was written with the intent to cultivate “musical tastes in children from the first years of school” and has been arranged for brass quintet, piano, drums, and narrator.
Carnival of The Animals:
Camille Saint-Saens’ humorous musical suite of fourteen short movements takes children on delightful trip to the zoo. Ogden Nash’s poetry to accompany each movement makes for an enjoyable performance with narration.
A Musical Journey-500 Years of Music:
The quintet performs music of various periods dating from the 1500′s to the present day. Quintet members discuss their instruments and the characteristics of each style and genre.
